Wellfie Wednesday: Your Size May Matter…
Wellfie Wednesday: Your Size May Matter…when it comes to your plate. I have never been one to be in tune with proper place settings and or kitchen supplies. However, portion size had always been an issue with me. I used to eat huge heaping platefuls of food, and then go back for seconds. Things have changed, not only with my eating pattern (more Whole30 and trending towards more plant based diet) but in the why behind my eating style.
Now married with a 6 year old daughter and a 7 month old son, we generally all eat dinner together (usually a wonderful, healthy meal cooked by my wife). I eat one plateful of food, and then we save the leftovers for lunch the next day. (We try to send a healthy meal in with my daughter every day as well). I eat the portions I eat now because A) it is a healthy amount, and B) we’ll need leftovers the next day.
We don’t own fine china, but we do own 2 sets of plates. One set of plates is an older set with both big and medium versions of the same plate, and one is a nicer pottery barn set we got as a wedding gift which also includes medium and large plates.
It is helpful to know that using the smaller plates may help with any and all things portion size related. It almost forces you to eat a healthy amount of food.
ONE THING I LEARNED TODAY:
Size does matter…when you are selecting a plate to use to put your meal on. If you have the option of choosing a smaller plate, do it because it may help you control portion sizes without even trying. As always I am super thankful to the Wellfie Wednesday crew for these helpful weekly tips to ponder.
