Wellfie Wednesday: Prepare for Failure

Today’s Wellfie Wednesday: Prepare for Failure brings up a good point. It is not saying to EXPECT failure, but to prepare for it. The weekly wellness tip talks about how we need to expect to succeed, but plan for failure. What does this look like exactly? Well, if it talks about if you are on a new eating pattern, and it is going well, but in a moment of weakness you have a few bites of ice cream, that is ok. Just get back on track as soon as possible. Don’t wallow in the “oh woe is me” pitty party and eat the whole gallon of ice cream, just get back on the pattern to doing the best you can.

Nobody is Perfect

Failure is going to happen to everybody at some point, because nobody is perfect. But failure is really just an opportunity to learn. So learn from the failure, move on from it, and get back on track with your eye on the prize, no matter what that prize is.

ONE THING I LEARNED TODAY:

Don’t be afraid to fail, prepare for it. Whether its on a new eating pattern or in your new startup business, or with a clinical treatment, be prepared. For me, I think the personal failure is actually a little bit of a victory as well. I am losing weight during this #SummerOfMove at a much slower rate than any Whole30 I have ever done. But by adding a workout and weight lifting, I feel as though I am actually adding some muscle mass. I am down to 318, which is only a pound or two from last week, but I do feel stronger. I will continue to document the journey and see how it ends up at the end of the summer.
