Wellfie Wednesday Blog Post: Should You Start Eating Lentils?

Today’s Wellfie Wednesday Blog Post: Should You Start Eating Lentils? I will be the first to admit I have not gotten on the lentil train. And it is not for any reason specifically other than lentils are not Whole30 compliant, which is a lot of what we eat regularly. That is not to say they are not healthy for you, I just haven’t tried them much yet. Which is actually a shame because there are a lot of good recipes out there that utilize lentils.

Happy Wellfie Wednesday!

Welcome back! This week is brought to you by Patrick (@TheFuelPhysio), our crew’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.  This week I want to get you thinking more about LENTILS! Frankly because they’re awesome and pack a nutritious punch. Lentils are by far my favorite legume and not only because they’re cheap, but because lentils are so versatile. You can add or substitute for them in any meal at any point of the day, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or heck a snack! If you’re looking for ways to incorporate more plant-based food options, this is a great start. Check out the image below for a few quick nutritional facts on lentils. Lentils.org is a great website loaded with recipes and meal ideas. I highly recommended checking it out.

Lentils can be both healthy AND delicious. I may have to break my Whole30 habit and give them a try in the near future. The sheer amount of protein in lentils is staggering, especially if you are a vegetarian which can be a great source.
