PT Not a Crossfitter: Day 15

Day 15

Extremely inspirational day today! Halfway point weigh in: 311 lbs. Down 9 lbs from the start of this present Whole30.  I am hoping to lose the final 11 in the second half of the Whole30 to get down to the start of my comeback weight of 300.  I plan to be under 300 by April, which is perfect timing since it is my 38th birthday and I should be ready to attack my first attempt at Crossfit by then. I started talking to a bunch of Physical Therapists who are also into the Crossfit genre in a bit of a PT centric Facebook Group. Everybody is so supportive. They all say to just dive right into Crossfit, but as I have mentioned to people time and time again, this is a psychosocial issue for me, and I am not going to be ready for it until I am ready for it.  I did add a new book to the reading list today that is Crossfit appropriate. Becoming a Supple Leopard by Kelly Starrett. A great book that applies to movements of the human body in PT and Crossfit. Can’t wait to dive in! (As my “enjoyment” reading list grows…really can’t wait to finish my dissertation so I can read anything again)

Meals:
Breakfast: 2 Hard Boiled Eggs, Iced Black Coffee
Lunch: Chicken breast, potatoes and carrots, grapes
Dinner: Beef Stew

Water intake: 80 oz

Activity: 10# dumbbell shrugs 3×20
10# dumbbell scapular pinches 3×20
10# dumbbell bicep curls 3×20
10# dumbbell tricep extension 3×20

Mindfullness: Calm App Day 9

Summary: Also considering Mitch Babcock and Ryan Smith’s ICE Physio Class on Crossfit athletes eventually. Really happy with my progress so far. I am also excited for April due to Opening Day of Baseball season, my birthday, sushi, and some craft beers I have been saving for the special occasion before getting back on a Whole30 again.
