Opportunity Only Knocks Once (or twice…or three times…or….)
Today’s blog post is brought to you by an old Jimmy Cliff song called “Opportunity Only Knocks Once”. The reason I am posting this song is so I can shatter this relatively common belief. After many weeks of working hard on several projects, many of them are starting to wrap up. As these projects are wrapping up, more and more windows of opportunity are opening up. Instead of slamming these windows closed and walking away, I am facing these new opportunities head on.
Take The Bull By The Horns
I can not speak about too many of these opportunities just yet, but I can assure you if I put my all into them and do them right, they are all going to be fun and informative for everyone. I think it will be good to stretch my boundaries a little and just get a little weird.
ONE THING I LEARNED TODAY:
When opportunity comes your way, greet it head on! Get comfortable with being uncomfortable, and stretch your limits. Not only will you learn about the opportunity presented to you, but you will learn a lot about yourself in the process. Plus, it is amazing to see how so much of your hard work starts paying off. The many hours of networking, reading, researching and studying (all more than I did when I was in school) finally start to gel and there is a synergy amongst them all. Not only is it fun, but it can likely be lucrative. I am not sure how it will all turn out, but I can not imagine it all going poorly. Even if 25% of things go to complete crap, the sheer amount of stuff I am working on currently puts me ahead in the long run. So go out there and work hard and don’t stop working hard!
