One Final Beer Review Before A Whole60: Panic Water by Appalachian Mountain Brewery

Following this year’s Summer of Move competition, I found myself getting lazy. I was going to the gym one or two days per week instead of 3 of 4, and doing Yoga 1 or two days per week instead of 2-3. There are a million excuses why this happened, from dissertation deadlines to family health crisis to literal natural disasters in the state of Texas. None of which are very good reasons to gain five pounds. However, while I used to beat myself up and start the downward spiral into full blown emotional eating, my new mindset will not allow for that.

Bigger Picture

I am grittier than I once thought and my growth mindset will not allow me fail this time, and when it does it will at least allow me to learn from it. So for the month of October (yes Candy Month) and Novemeber (yes Turkey Day) and even for a few days in December I will be embarking on a strict Whole60. I am not sure if my family is on board with me, but it is what I need to do in order to be where I want to be for the end of this year. So here is to one more beer review before I embark on this two month downtime.

The Beer

So Panic Water is exactly what it claims to be: A hoppy Pilsner. Hailing from Boone, NC and Appalachian Mountain Brewery this beer would best be enjoyed on a cold fall evening up in those mountains of Boone while listening to some Widespread Panic. Very crisp, very hoppy, and very German flavor to it. Slight hint of fruit and cracker platter.

ONE THING I LEARNED TODAY:

I generally enjoy German style beers! I have never been to Oktoberfest, but I think I may need to start making some plans. Any recommendations? ALSO…WHY ARE WE NOT PAIRING BEERS WITH TUNES!?! Is that not a thing yet? Matt Zolaga may have been on to something here.
