Foodie Friday: Coffee/Caffeine Addiction
I often tell the story of how I used to be addicted to Diet Code Red Mountain Dew. When I went to Hawaii for a Home Health contract, they did not sell Diet Code Red Mountain Dew over there. So I gave up soda almost completely and started drinking coffee. This is where the Foodie Friday: Coffee/Caffeine Addiction blog post comes from.
Which Coffee and Why
I would like to start by thanking my buddy Pete for the amazing new YETI Rambler 30 oz Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Tumbler w/ MagSlider Lid Its a monster tumbler! I had posted that my Tervis is stained from all of the coffee I had drank over the years. Pete surprised me on my recent trip to Austin with a new coffee cup from YETI and it is BADASS! That being said, I drink my coffee black over ice. I don’t particularly like hot drinks and I am trying to avoid dairy and sugar. As far as a coffee brand, I have recently taken to Death Wish Coffee. I have yet to find a brand of coffee flavor that I like. So I figured if I don’t like the taste, I might as well get as much caffeine as I can. Now that I am drinking nearly 30 oz of coffee in the mornings, I am trying to scale back on the Death Wish and just drink whatever we have a work (Folgers for now).
ONE THING I LEARNED TODAY:
I am not a big fan of the flavor of coffee. However, I do enjoy the pick me up I get in the morning from the boost of caffeine. I also enjoy the fact that I am not drinking sodas as both regular AND diet sodas are simply not good for you. I would love to hear about your favorite brand of coffee (just black regular) that you enjoy for the taste alone. I’m trying to enjoy both the health benefits AND the flavor!
